Ultimate Day Tour From $100 per person — groups by arrangement Depart Whangaparapara on Great Barrier Lodge’s 38ft ex fishing vessel “Sundancer”. View the west coast of Great Barrier from the sea as you meander through the Broken Islands, visiting the gannet colony and squeezing through Man of War passage into Fitzroy Harbour. Pause for lunch (complementary tea, coffee and biscuits) before disembarking at Port Fitzroy and onto Barrier Tour Company’s coach. Continue back down the east coast by road, stopping at Windy Canyon. Enjoy the magnificent east coast beaches and scenery, stopping to boil the billy for a cuppa before returning to Whangaparapara to relax on the deck at Great Barrier Lodge. Departure 10.30am numbers and weather permitting. Tour Duration approximately 5 hours |
Sunset Tour From $100 per person — groups by arrangement Depart from Whangaparapara on Barrier Tour’s coach and travel across the island and up the east coast to Port Fitzroy. Enjoy the magnificent scenery, stopping at Windy Canyon and Awana beach, pausing for afternoon tea along the way. Board Great Barrier Lodge's 38ft ex fishing vessel “Sundancer” at Port Fitzroy wharf for a leisurely trip out through the Broken Islands to view the sun setting over the gulf and Barrier bathed in the evening light. Enjoy a BBQ snack on board. Disembark at Whangaparapara and call in at the lodge for a nightcap. Departure 3.30pm numbers and weather permitting. Tour duration approximately 5 hours |
